How to install the printer driver for the colour laser printer in ABB241

This instruction is for the colour laser printer in ABB241. The printer model is hp clj4700dn, with one additional 500 page paper tray. Tray 2 is for transparency, and Tray 3 is for plain paper. The printer has 256MB of ram. Your must use postscript printer driver. All printing jobs must be sent through printer server physprt

Linux

All the linux workstation should have already setup to use the colour printer. There are three queues for this, clj, clj2s and clj_t. clj and clj2s take paper from tray3. clj2s prints to both sides. clj_t takes transparency from tray2. Sorry for changing the name, but this is necessary to make sure new drivers are used. If you found you linux machine has not been properly setup for this, send a mail to sysadmin@physics.mcmaster.ca. If this is a machine you installed yourself, the steps to setup the queues are:
– Set “Browsing Off” in /etc/cups/cups.conf, restart cupd
– Run these commands:
lpadmin -p clj -E -v lpd://physprt/clj
lpadmin -p clj2s -E -v lpd://physprt/clj2s
lpadmin -p clj_t -E -v lpd://physprt/clj_t
