New prizes and awards resource to support McMaster research community
Are you a researcher or research facilitator seeking support for prizes and awards, whether that be applying for a major national or international distinction or nominating a colleague?
The Office of the Vice-President, Research (OVPR) has launched a new Prizes & Awards SharePoint site, available to members of the McMaster research community.
This online support hub is designed to aid researchers in the application and nomination process for major external research prizes, honours, awards, and distinctions. It was developed with input from Faculty leaders and administrators to ensure it meets the diverse needs of McMaster’s research community.
The SharePoint site contains several resources to support those applying for awards and nominating their colleagues, including:
- Information about recently launched and upcoming prize and award competitions supported by the OVPR
- Award inventories
- A list of services provided by the OVPR’s Prizes & Awards team
- Resources to support the preparation and submission of application/nomination dossiers, including notice of intent forms, guidance documents for award programs, and CV and nomination letter templates
Members of the McMaster research community can access the Prizes & Awards SharePoint site by logging in with their MacID and password.
The OVPR’s Prizes & Awards team is also developing workshops to help researchers enhance their award portfolios. Topics of discussion will include: best practices for drafting common components of nomination dossiers; preparing CVs to meet agency requirements; and incorporating inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) considerations into application/nomination dossiers.
Advancing McMaster’s participation in national and international prize competitions is a key institutional priority. The OVPR is committed to supporting researchers in their prize and award endeavors to ensure their accomplishments are recognized and celebrated on the national and global research stage.
