Labiaplasty procedures are increasingly performed worldwide, creating a growing need for reliable and patient-centered methods to evaluate treatment outcomes. Existing assessment approaches often rely on clinician observations and may not fully capture patient perspectives regarding appearance, symptoms, quality of life, and sexual wellbeing.
Researchers at McMaster University have developed the LABIA-Q, a patient-reported outcome measure designed to evaluate outcomes associated with labiaplasty. The questionnaire was developed through patient interviews, expert input, cognitive debriefing, and field testing with 339 participants. The LABIA-Q evaluates multiple patient-reported domains including appearance, symptoms, life impact, and sexual wellbeing.
The LABIA-Q has applications in gynecology, aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery, clinical research, and clinical trials seeking validated patient-reported outcome data related to cosmetic labiaplasty procedures.
