The Vice President, Research is responsible for all of McMaster University’s research activities within the University, and for the aggressive pursuit of new partnerships – including technology transfer and economic development opportunities – locally, nationally and internationally. In this role, the VPR represents the University at a variety of meetings, conferences and events to raise the profile of McMaster’s research enterprise.

As part of McMaster University’s commitment to good governance and transparency, summaries of individual business travel and hospitality expenses incurred by the VPR in undertaking his/her duties are available on a quarterly basis.

The expenses relate to travel costs and associated meals, accommodation and other expenses organized by trip, together with hospitality expenses, incurred by the VPR. The University’s policy on Reimbursements to Individuals for University Business governs the approval and reimbursement process for such expenses.
