Feedback on McMaster’s Evolving Digital Research Support Landscape

A key function of the DRCP is engaging with the research community at McMaster to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for collaboration with an outcoming being the co-creation of a vision for coordinated digital research support at McMaster.

The Digital Research Commons Pilot (DRCP) invites McMaster’s research community to provide feedback on the current state of digital research support at McMaster. The current state of digital research support, McMaster’s Evolving Digital Research Support Landscape is a living document, central to the DRCP’s efforts to co-create a vision of coordinated digital research support at McMaster. Feedback on this report will help shape the future of digital research support at McMaster.

The DRCP including the participating services are continuously developing new tools & resources to assist the McMaster community with their digital research needs. We’ve selected a few recently created resources to highlight.

An aspect of the DRCP’s mission is to build into and around existing digital research support so that digital research support units can collaborate to identify support gaps and develop complementary and shared services that meet diverse needs across campus. We actively pursue opportunities for collaboration with other service providers and researchers, all with the aim of enhancing digital research support for researchers.

Building our cross-function team

The DRCP Team consists of members from different units across campus including McMaster University Library, Health Sciences Library and UTS. This cross-units team collaborates on a regular basis to build resources for researchers and

In September, the DRCP Team held a half-day in-person meeting where they discussed the current state of digital research support report, tested the associated feedback survey, and began utilizing Project for the web. Finally, the DRCP Team ideated information on digital research support most critical to new researchers at McMaster and the best methods for sharing this information.

In September, Emilie Altman joined the Research Data Management team as the Research Data Management Specialist covering Isaac Pratt’s parental leave.

Kat Williams was hired as the Communications & Projects Lead for the DRCP. Kat will begin Wednesday November 15, 2023.
