Research Software Licensing Catalogue

The Research Software Licensing Catalogue is a searchable resource for researchers at McMaster to assist in identifying available software licenses and research software support. The current version of this catalogue includes information provided by Faculty IT Units, McMaster University Libraries (MUL), and Research and High-Performance Computing Support (RHPCS).

PLEASE NOTE: The information contained in this catalogue is updated on a request basis. This catalogue cannot guarantee the most up to date information regarding access or cost. In the case of discrepancy between any information contained on this page and the license owner, the license owner will supersede this catalogue.

Digital research is defined as an intellectual process or creative endeavour, that for research purposes, uses data, computing, and/or digital technology to generate knowledge or share information.

Software is defined as a set of instructions or programs that tell a computer what to do. (adapted from the IBM definition of software) 

Research software is defined as using any software for research purposes. All research involving software is considered digital research.
