January 15, 2025Description:
Research project(s) to examine the relationship between ill-fitting personal protective equipment (PPE) and workplace injury, illness, and fatalities.
The project(s) should focus on sex and gender, and additional consideration of different body shapes, occupation, and other relevant factors.
The current situation highlights a gap in understanding how ill-fitting PPE may affect workplace health and safety, necessitating this kind of research to improve OHS standards, policies, and practices. The project should involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including but not limited to universities, research institutions, OHS organizations, industry employers, workers, and/or PPE manufacturers.
Eligibility:
The contractor must provide a qualified researcher or team of qualified researchers with expertise in occupational health and safety and the collection, handling, and analysis of large amounts of sensitive data. The team should include at least one senior researcher with a Ph.D. in a relevant field and a minimum of five years of experience in conducting similar research. Additional years of experience in academic research will be considered in lieu of a Ph.D.
