We are pleased to announce that applications and nominations can now be submitted for a range of prestigious ERS Scientific Awards.

ERS Mid-Career Gold Medals

ERS Mid-Career Gold Medals honour mid-career researchers who have an excellent track record and the potential for further outstanding developments in the specific field of the award. Sponsored awards may offer attractive research grants for submitted project proposals.

Fields for ERS Mid-Career Gold Medal awards on offer for 2023:

ERS Lifetime Achievement Award

The ERS Lifetime Achievement Awards honours highly regarded senior scientists and established experts in the respiratory field with an international reputation. Members from the following Assemblies may apply or be nominated:

  • Assembly 7 – Paediatrics
  • Assembly 9 – Allied respiratory professionals
  • Assembly 13 – Pulmonary vascular diseases
  • Assembly 14 – Clinical techniques, imaging and endoscopy

ERS Sadoul Lecture Award

This award honours established chest physicians who have a world-wide reputation in the respiratory field. It commemorates a French scientist, Paul Sadoul, founder of the SEPCR and long-time editor of the “Bulletin Européen de Physiopathologie Respiratoire,” predecessor of the European Respiratory Journal. A special Congress session will be dedicated to the Sadoul Lecture and a slot will be reserved for the awardee.
