Description:

The Project Grant program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential for important advances in fundamental or applied health-related knowledge, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes by supporting projects of research proposed and conducted by individual researchers or groups of researchers in all areas of health. This program is open to all areas of health research that are aligned with CIHR’s mandate. Additionally, special topics have been identified as “Priority Announcements” (specific research areas) for this fall’s competition. Research proposals that focus on one of these areas can be identified for special consideration.

Applications to the Project Grant are submitted via ResearchNet. Unlike other CIHR competitions, the Project Grant requires institutions to submit applications on behalf of their primary investigators (PI). As such, applications are due for internal review via ResearchNet by 8:00 AM on September 5, 2023. Feedback from a Health Research Services Senior Grant Advisor will be provided by the end of the week. This opportunity supports all areas of health research aligned with the CIHR mandate. Research areas include Global Health; Indigenous Health Research; Randomized Controlled Trials; Commercialization; and Interdisciplinary Research.
