Description:

This opportunity supports research to better understanding the diverse experiences of Canadian veterans living with chronic pain. Projects should specifically:

  • Advance the understanding of the experiences of different population groups (i.e. women, 2SLGBTQI+, Indigenous, Black and racialized veterans, veterans with disabilities) of Canadian veterans as it relates to chronic pain, including accessing health services
  • Identify and analyze chronic pain diagnostic and treatment pathways for Canadian veterans, with consideration as to how these may vary across populations (i.e. women, 2SLGBTQI+, Indigenous, Black and racialized veterans, veterans with disabilities), how these compare to best practices, and how these compare to civilians with chronic pain
  • Evaluate clinical, system, and/or policy interventions to improve access to chronic pain care and management for diverse Canadian veterans living with chronic pain
