Free supercomputing resources via Digital Research Alliance of Canada
Digital Research Alliance of Canada provides the bulk of free supercomputing resources to Canadian academic researchers.
Canadian faculty (including adjunct professors) can get an Alliance account within days after applying, and then sponsor any number of students and postdocs from their research group. Once the account is activated, the researcher can instantly access a significant amount of resources via the default access mode.
For researchers with larger computing needs (more than 200 cpu core years, or 15 GPU core years, consumed within a year), Alliance runs the annual Resource Allocation Competition (RAC). This year’s competition is open right now, with the application deadline of October 30.
If you think your research group will benefit from and qualify for RAC, there is still time to both get an Alliance account and apply for RAC. For inquiries, please send an email to help@sharcnet.ca .
