Does your research involve animals? If so, please apply for ethics clearance through the McMaster’s Animal Research Ethics Board (AREB).
AREB reviews all research, teaching, and testing activities involving the use of living animals (for all faculty and affiliated with McMaster University).
The Animal Utilization Protocol (AUP) is intended to provide AREB with information about activities of all faculty members, in all facilities, including individual laboratories and classrooms, which the Committee needs to meet its legal and ethical responsibilities.
Visit the A-Tune online system to complete your AUP form. Please contact Sarah Kadmin (kadhis@mcmaster.ca) to request access to the A-Tune system.
To facilitate research, teaching and testing activities, AREB reviews all AUPs, and approves those which, in the opinion of the Board, do not pose any ethical or legal problems. Final approval of all projects must be acquired before work commences.
