Gay Yuyitung is the Executive Director at the McMaster Industry Liaison Office (MILO) and provides strategic support to The Forge. MILO is the contracts and tech transfer office, providing legal and administrative support to faculty, staff, and students at McMaster and the affiliated hospitals in their research collaborations with companies and in the commercialization of intellectual property created as a result of research. The Forge is McMaster’s business incubator, providing support to students and the Hamilton community interested in entrepreneurship and accelerating the growth of their start-up.
Gay has represented the university as a board observer and provided management support for several McMaster start-ups, including ProSensus, Altus Assessments, Exerkine, and Triumvira; as well as serving on the boards of not-for-profit organizations in the ecosystem such as Innovation Factory and Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC). Most recently, Gay was appointed interim CEO for the McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) which houses a mix of government and academic research groups with strong industry collaborations, and over 50 start-up to scaling companies. Gay has her PhD in chemistry from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from McMaster.
