Thirty McMaster research projects, from five faculties and a broad range of disciplines, have received federal funding amounting to more than $3.6 million from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
SSHRC awarded 16 McMaster researchers a total of $2.17 million in Insight Grants, which support excellence in research that addresses complex issues pertaining to individuals and societies. They are

- Jiaping Qiu, Finance & Business Economics
- Yan Wang, Finance & Business Economics
- Elkafi Hassini, Operations Management
- Heather Prime, Psychiatry
- Darren Scott, Geography & Earth Science
Five researchers are receiving a total of $948,488 in Partnership Development Grants, which support new or existing research partnerships. They are:
